Eko is set in the mist-covered hills of Kaattukunnu, where an elderly woman and her caretaker become targets of a manhunt when they become the fugitives, Kuriachan, the legendary dog breeder. The hunt gets deeper and deeper, and as secrets emerge from the depths, so does a taut and satisfying conclusion.

What Eko Does Well

The film's greatest virtue is its sense of atmosphere. The hazy atmosphere adds a level of tension to the film, and Bahul Ramesh's cinematography perfectly encapsulates the story.

Sandeep Pradeep actually does one of his best performances ever; Biana Momin's performance was subtle and controlled. Mujeeb Majeed's understated score is as much about silence as it is about any music; its suspense is created naturally, not written in.
